Each client will receive a person-centered assessment and consultation of needs by a professionally educated case manager. Once needs are determined, your WNYACP case manager will connect you with services, programs and assistance to support your caregiving role.

Statistics reveal that caregivers who participate in support groups are better equipped to manage their caregiving duties and suffer less depression and stress-related illness. WNYACP offers many support group options, including an online “Virtual Support Group” for caregiver convenience.
WYOMING COUNTY SUPPORT GROUP
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a six-week course which provides education, tools and strategies on how to successfully manage your caregiving duties. During one-hour classes, caregivers are able to practice newly gained skills, and have the chance to share their experiences with other caregivers.
Dementia-specific Caregiver Education is provided by the WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association or your local Office for the Aging, in both live and online courses. Please see calendar, below, for a list of education classes in your community. These sessions discuss such dementia-specific challenges as negative reaction behavior, disease process, medication and more. For a full list of courses available, or you have questions about the classes offered, please contact the Alzheimer's Association at (716) 626-0600.
